Founded in 1909, The Evanston Woman’s Board has been a steadfast supporter of Northwestern Settlement, offering a wide range of flexible ways to make an impact. Their contributions, including unrestricted grants raised through the Dollar Letter writing campaign, have been pivotal in addressing unmet community needs. For example, in 2017, these critical donations helped launch the Family CARES mental health clinic, providing essential services to children and families. In addition to funding key initiatives, the Board’s support ensures the stability of Northwestern Settlement, enabling the organization to secure highly competitive grants and fill necessary gaps in funding for vital programs.

Since its founding in 1936, The North Shore Board has been committed to supporting Northwestern Settlement's House In The Wood camp, which was established in 1910 to provide enriching experiences for youth from underserved communities. As an all-volunteer auxiliary board, all proceeds from the annual House In The Wood Gala directly benefit this award-winning program. These funds help ensure that children from Chicago's most economically marginalized neighborhoods can engage in outdoor education with a STEM curriculum during the school year and attend a residential summer camp. In addition to fundraising, North Shore Board members dedicate their time to volunteering at both the Northwestern Settlement in Chicago's West Town neighborhood and the House In The Wood Camp in Delavan, Wisconsin.
