Responding to
the Need

Our Food Pantry, located in the historic Settlement House at 1400 W. Augusta Blvd., Chicago, IL 60642, is a cornerstone of support for the West Town community. We distribute food every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 am - 12 pm.

Since 1933, we’ve been committed to helping those in need. It all started when Settlement board members began delivering meals to local schools during the Great Depression to feed students whose families were struggling. At its peak, we were serving 4,000 meals a day.

Nearly 90 years later, that same spirit of care and compassion continues. We provide food and emergency services with dignity, offering immediate relief to individuals and families in need.

Golden Agers Program

In addition to offering food and essential services to our neighbors, we proudly host the Golden Agers Club—a vibrant community for senior citizens. This group offers fun activities like bingo, exciting field trips around the community, and other opportunities for social interaction and support. Our goal is to create a warm, welcoming environment where seniors can connect, build lasting friendships, and enjoy a strong sense of belonging within the community.
