Northwestern Settlement’s Annual Meeting: Inspiring Across Generations April 25

What: Annual Meeting and Awards Celebration
When: Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6:30 – 9:00pm
Where: Segal Visitors Center, Northwestern University, 1841 Sheridan Road, Evanston, IL

Northwestern Settlement’s Annual Meeting: Inspiring Across Generations is a tribute to the time, talent, and treasure given by members of the community to make Settlement programs successful. This year’s event will welcome Legacy Award honorees Lisa Wiersma, Executive Director, IMC Chicago Charitable Foundation, and Gillian Fealy, owner of Live Grit, and AmeriCorps Project YES! alumna.

Since 2010 IMC has supported schools and organizations that serve low-income students in Chicago for a range of needs including academic programs, sports and recreation, and early childhood care. Wiersma and IMC were early proponents of Northwestern Settlement’s Outdoor Education program, including ensuring young students in Chicago schools have the opportunity to connect and learn at House In The Wood.

During Fealy’s member year with the Settlement’s AmeriCorps Project YES! she led the move to a field day event for the annual Global Youth Service Day. As an alumna she has brought her Live Grit team to After School, launching a triathlon team last year. Currently in its second season, Fealy, and her Live Grit team coaches, have doubled the number of participating scholars.

Additional awards to be presented honor the legacy and leadership of the Settlement family to staff, volunteers, and supporters. This year’s event will be at the Segal Visitors Center at Northwestern University.
