anthony_perry1Chicago, IL (June 8, 2016) – Northwestern Settlement (The Settlement) announced Anthony Perry as their next Board Chair, officially beginning in the new fiscal year, beginning July 1.

President of A. Perry Homes, has served on the Settlement’s Board of Directors since 2014.

Current Board Chair, Robert Best, passed the gavel at the Settlement’s Annual Meeting in April. Best, and Settlement President Ron Manderschied are excited for Perry’s leadership. Manderschied said, “Tony was introduced to the Settlement several years ago, and fell in love with the mission and the people we serve. I know he will bring that passion, along with his expertise and leadership to this position.”

Perry has been the force behind two annual events benefiting the Settlement, and has been an advocate for families, as well as a generous supporter since coming to the Settlement. His expertise as an architect, while we launch an expansion, and his leadership in fundraising are assets the Settlement is grateful to have. He is a right choice to launch the next stage of the Settlement’s history.

About Northwestern Settlement: The Northwestern University Settlement House opened its doors to its neighbors in 1891 in order to provide an opportunity for a better future. The Settlement’s success results from a commitment to treating every person who enters its doors with dignity and respect, while supporting them with transformational programming designed to interrupt the cycle of poverty. While the mission has remained the same, the programs offered has changed and adapted in response to changes in the community, economy and society. The Settlement has led the way in innovative programming by offering residential science and environmental education for inner-city youth, launching successful charter schools and adding a theater so children and teens have a forum for expressing their life experiences.
